I think that's hilarious. We are expecting some horrible stuff with heavy rain warnings. That will put a dampner on New Year festivities. Typical Pacific cyclone, (hurricane), side blow for this time of year.
For goodness sake, it's supposed to be summer.
It doesn't keep the kids, big and small, out of the water. One of our sons and his cousin were out riding the surf in 'sit-on-top canoes' today. The easterly breeze had a cold southerly bite. I was surprised they stayed out so long considering they were not wearing wet suits.
We are being kept busy with preparing our house for holiday bookings. We're going to Rotorua to spend New Year with our son who lives there.
Christmas Day we spent with Mum. Our daughter prepared the meal and did a lovely job of it. I took a pavlova ..... meringue type cake covered in whipped cream and fresh strawberries. My brother, his wife and daughter and our Rotorua son joined us for lunch, The night before, on Christmas Eve we all met up briefly at Mum's with my niece and her family. who live in Bali, before going three doors along to visit the Christmas House. It's been quite a relaxed time of food, gifts and family.

We had a Pavlova for Christmas Eve, made by my New Zealander Son-in-law. His parents, who are from Aukland, are also visiting (our daughter and her husband) this Christmas.

May the Lord continue to restore your soul, Anne, and fill you with hope, joy, and energy, in SPITE of any circumstance.
Hugs,
Loretta
